What this tool does
Place racks, towers, channels, pumps, tanks, and outlets on a snapped floor plan (up to 100 m × 100 m in product copy).
Draw water and electrical connections; preview in 3D.
Surface capacity, pipe lengths, pump power, and rough setup/revenue/energy estimates.
How it works
- Resource summary counts plant slots/trays from element metadata (towers, microgreen racks, channels, grow beds).
- Energy: kWh/day = (LED watts + pump watts) ÷ 1000 × hoursOnPerDay; kWh/year = kWh/day × 365; cost = kWh/year × tariff (region defaults e.g. west EUR 0.32/kWh, 18 h/day in farmDesignerEnergyTariff.ts).
- Financial snapshot (computeFarmFinancialSnapshot): setup cost ranges by element type and market (west/asia), monthly revenue scenarios, variable opex, cautious/typical/optimistic profit, ROI months best/worst from setup ÷ monthly profit scenarios.
- Internal financial amounts stored in USD with FX display factors EUR 0.93, THB 35.5 per USD in farmFinancialConstants.ts.

How are electricity costs estimated?
Sum LED and pump watts from placed equipment × hours on per day × tariff from the energy panel.
Does it link to Farm Manager?
Saved layouts can be used in the authenticated farm workflow (My Farm Designs / manager) — import paths are in the app, not on the public tool page alone.
